TI-Nspire 3-hour Workshop

Cuyahoga County Educational Service Center is offering a 3-hour TI-Nspire workshop on Tuesday, February 19th from 4:30 - 7:30. The cost is only $25 and a meal is included. The workshop presenter is yours truly, Jeff VanArnhem (TI-Nspire Fast Tracker). Participants will get hands-on experience with this latest handheld technology from Texas Instruments. eTech in Columbus February 4th-6th

If you get a chance to attend, I have heard that this is an amazing conference for those interested in educational technology. I personally will be attending this year for the first time. The Westside GCCTM Book Club

The Westside GCCTM Book Club will meet October 2, Oct. 23 and Nov. 13 at 5 pm at BW college.

We are reading Improving Instruction In Rational Numbers and Proportionality: Using Cases to Transform Mathematics Teaching and Learning (Ways of Knowing in Science and Mathematics  by Margaret Scwhan Smith, Ed Silver, and others.  Author Peg Smith will attend the first meeting to discuss the selected chapters.

TI-NSpire Summer Workshop Information

Workshop will be on how to incorporate the brand new TI-Nspire graphing calculator into the high school mathematics classroom (some topics will be for middle school and prealgebra). Registration for the Fourth Annual Partnership Conference

The conference is February 23, 2007 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Keynote speakers include Dr. Julian Earls, executive in residence at Nance College of Business administration and Alan November, a leader in educational technology. Dr. Earls will discuss "Things They Don't Teach You in College about Math and Science Education" and Mr. November will speak on "Building Learning Communities". The March 12th meeting at Olmsted Falls High School will feature a presentation by a Texas Instrument representative. The focus of the presentation will be the resources (grant information, tutorials, classroom activities, etc.) that Texas Instruments has made available for teachers. More details.
